Cambridge
Tour description
Cambridge is now one of the most-visited tourist destinations in the country, with over three million visitors a year. We are home to one of the world's most prestigious universities; part of which dates back to the eleventh century and the city is a magnet to anyone who is interested in British history. This, as well as the traditional sights of punts, cyclists, and the River Cam, has helped to create an image of Cambridge that is known throughout the world.
If you’re looking for a unique way to see and explore Cambridge, simply hop on a City Sightseeing Cambridge bus! The unmistakeable red, open-topped double-decker buses operate every 20 minutes (40 minutes throughout the winter) from 21 stops all over the city, taking you on an un-missable tour of all the city’s top tourist attractions. A full tour lasts for approximately one hour and twenty minutes. Buy one of our great value tickets and you can hop-on and hop-off at any of the stops throughout the day, giving you the chance to visit the historic city centre, the University Colleges, the world famous Backs and the River Cam, the University Botanic Garden, the Fitzwilliam Museum and much, much more - including the American World War II Memorial and Cemetery at Madingley.
Our on-board commentary comes in a choice of languages; English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Mandarin and Cantonese, so sit back, relax and enjoy your journey of discovery with City Sightseeing Cambridge!
For our younger passengers, City Sightseeing Kids Club packs are available, which offer our younger passengers that little bit extra. All of our younger City Sightseeing passengers will receive a free Kids Passport and a set of felt tip pens. Their passport contains puzzles and games to help keep the children entertained. On the back of each Kids Passport we include instructions to entering our drawing competition. Budding young artists are welcome to enter the City Sightseeing Kids' Club drawing competition, as there are all sorts of prizes up for grabs!
As well as our public tours we can offer a whole tour bus for the exclusive use of your own group! This can be with a live English-speaking Guide or our multi-lingual commentary system. We can collect your party from any of the 21 regular stops along our route, or for complete flexibility, at any point in the city or county that suits you. All our tour buses seat 82 passengers, with 49 seats upstairs and 33 downstairs.
If you are arriving as a group by coach in Cambridge, we suggest you plan to meet our tour at Silver Street, which is a two-minute walk from the main coach set-down and pick-up point on Queens’ Road (The Backs).
Keep hold of your tour ticket after you leave Cambridge and City Sightseeing will give you a 10% discount off your next city tour, in any of the 70 towns or cities around the world in which we operate.
For all these reasons and many more besides, wherever you come from, make your first stop in Cambridge at a City Sightseeing bus stop!
