Lisbon
Lisbon’s history dates back to 300,000 years ago, however it emerged as
a nation state in the early 12th century, and ranks as one of the world's longest
founded cities. With so many attractions such as Jerónimos Monastery, built
by the King D. Manuel I designed in Manueline architectural style and Torre de
Belém, which are both classified by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites.
From our start point of Marques do Pombal Square, for each of our 2 routes, you
can discover and explore at your own leisure the city’s key sights, museums,
gardens and attractions including Sé Cathedral; the cultural quarter of
Belém, the Tower Vasco da Gama and the Lisbon Oceanarium built in 1998
for the international exhibition of the same year.
Lisbon, a city of contrasts, offering so much to discover and surprise, still
maintains the marks of its early history along with a rich cultural mix is one
of the most beautiful capitals of Europe.
