Perched on the banks of the Potomac River, Washington was named after the President of the same
name in 1791. Over two centuries later, the historic city attracts tourists from all over the world as well
as from within the USA, and it regularly appears in the top 20 most visited destinations in the country.
The list of things to do in Washington DC is as long as the river that flows through it. The National Mall,
which includes iconic attractions such as the Lincoln, Washington and Jefferson Memorials as well as the
Korean and Vietnam War Veterans Memorials, and the US Capitol building, is one of the city’s key sights.
Among Washington’s other not-to-missed places of interest, the White House and the US Supreme
Court building attract copious numbers of visitors every year.

The Blue Route takes you to the Holocaust Museum and across the Potomac River to the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery. Of special note is the journey across the Potomac which provides some fantastic views and photo opportunities.
